Creating Digital Notecards in APA Format. In this tutorial, I show how to create digital note cards which are required as part of the research paper in my English classes.
I show how to do a direct quote (with my own words leading in or out of the quote) and paraphrasing as well as citing the source within the sentence.
This type of annotation technique is very handy because it maximizes the amount of writing done while the student is reading the source, i.e. the notes are proof of the reading. Secondly, typing the notes out in a digital document means that the notes are movable, i.e. the note can be rearranged and reordered as part of an outline on another digital document (thank you cut and paste functions).
